Hello, Alchemy Atelier!

Hey Friends!

I'm Alecia! Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to connect with you!

After many successful years in both the floral design & fine art industries, I created Alchemy Atelier, (pronounced a-til-e-a): a creative studio that unites my passion for special event design, fresh & preserved flowers, textile, & editorial styling. That sounds like a lot, right?

A little bit of historyIn 2011, I graduated from Memphis College of Art with a BFA in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Fine Art Photography and a minor in Art History. After 4 years of rigorous art school, I was burned outfor real. I thought for a long time that I was destined to be an academic instead of an artist, perhaps in history or library studies. Later, I discovered that I truly desired to be a creator.

In 2017 I received my MA from UA Little Rock where I studied alternative processes of photography, textile, & art history. Subsequently, I started showing my work in local galleries including M2Gallery and have exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions since 2016.

Where does floral come into the picture? I was fortunate to have been raised in the floral industry. My amazing mother started her first flower shop at the age of 26. Throughout my childhood and early adulthood I was always in a flower shop and saw my mother working for herself. I knew by the age of 7 that I wanted to be an amazing girl boss like her.

After graduate school I went to work full time as a florist and wedding coordinator, and I absolutely loved the work. The flowers, clients and events provided unique challenges and creative fulfillment, but after a few years I found myself still reaching for something more.

This is my dream business and dream life! I cannot wait to see everything fall into place. I sincerely hope that you will follow along with me. ♥

xo Alecia
