Hi there! The amazing Ashley Murphy had a beautiful idea for a dark & moody portrait series with floral. It was a pleasure to create pieces for these images! Thank you so much Ashley!
These mint cocoa lisianthus is one of my all time favorites! Such a delicate bloom. The upside down photo below is similar to one of the inspiration photos and I believe it holds a great deal of power within its simplicity.
I was inspired by the burgundy cymbidium orchids. They have a unique shape that adds visual complexity and strength. All of these flowers together is quite romantic which plays well within the dark mood.
And the choker! I mean! That was a real thrill for me to create. I have always wanted to experiment and play with wearable floral art. This has sparked something in me for sure! I can't wait to create more.
Can we talk about how gorgeous Bree is? She is stunning and the perfect model for this vibe. I got my hands on some really long & luscious hanging amaranthus! So cool!
Living for the twisty centers of the black pearl roses and textured burgundy gypsophila. I love to dry and dye it when possible. The hints of cool gray is surprising and a nice addition. Silver Brunia (or nodiflora) is a very unique plant and is very versatile from season to season.
I can't wait to see what Ashley creates next and I look forward to collaborating with her again in the future. Stay tuned for more styled photo-shoots with other local talent coming soon to the blog & on Instagram.
