What Alchemy Atelier is all about
alchemyatelier is the brand name for the work of artist Shanna Tucker aka
ShannaMarie. Who also happens to be the designer and webmaster of this
site. So, I'm kinda speaking in third-person. Anyway, you're probably
wondering why the name 'alchemy atelier'? (Even if you're not I'm still gonna
tell you.
Well, I worked as a painter/dyer for a brief period in a costume shop during
that time I was gaining a reputation as being the shop 'alchemist'. It wasn't a
nickname or anything, I was just known to be able to replicate dye recipes
using completely different dyes than what was expressed in the original
recipe and get the same exact result. To make along story short, I was called
the little alchemist in passing one single insignificant second and it just stuck
with me.
Atelier just because it sounds cooler to me than 'studio' or 'workroom'.
Though you may see me refer to alchemy atelier as 'Studio a²' from time to
time, especially in my tweets.
So, what is the point of all this?
I am an artist. That being said, I like to draw attention to what I'm doing (and
selling) to make the world around me aware that I exist and that I am
creating art (that I hope you all will buy). Now, I'm not trying to be arrogant.
Arrogant would be telling you that my work is the most amazing, original,
must-have items of the century and you have to buy it or else you're no use to
me. But that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying look at me! Please? Pretty
please?

Here's some of the things that I like to produce:
Jewelry
Handbags
Hats
Art wearables (not traditional accessories, but fun, attention grabbing stuff)
Figurines and Poppets
Costume and Clothing design sketches
I work with a variety of mediums that include (but not limited to):
Paper, Clay, Glass, Metal, Wood, Fibers, Fabric, Beads, Resin, Felt, Feathers,
Ribbon, Cardboard, and random found objects
On the menu bar above are various sites that you can find examples of my
work (DeviantArt), buy them (Artfire), and keep up with news, projects,
events, and promotions related to my other pages (Twitter, Blogger, and
Facebook).
